Can you tell us a little bit about digital art and how you got interested in it?

Digital art is work made with digital technology or presented on digital technology. This includes images done completely on computer or hand-drawn images scanned into a computer and finished using a software program like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.

Art was my hobby since childhood. During my architecture course, I would often play around in Photoshop and 3D Studio Max, creating images. I found that using photographs as references was the simplest solution. I never expected that process to become part of my eventual digital art style. Using photos as reference helps me set the foundation of an art piece which allows me to focus on other aspects of the artwork.

When did you start?

Lockdown has been a source of inspiration for starting Colours and Pop. That time gave me the push which I truly needed to design, to focus on my illustrations, to set up a business and to research about all the things to make it a success.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Inspiration is all around us! And for me, it’s from
traveling. Traveling is like a meditation. It relaxes my mind and motivates me to do something worthwhile in life.

I’m inspired by new places, new people, their culture, and their beliefs.

What’s your day job?

Currently, I’ m completing my masters in Architecture and it is keeping me busy during the day and whenever I get free time in between, I use it all to make illustrations and to work on concepts.

What motivates you to keep creating?

I think curiosity. Curiosity about how the particular artwork will turn out or what should I do to make it more beautiful. That curiosity motivates me to work harder. I’m always in search of new ideas and concepts. For me, being an artist means being curious.

And I simply “create”.. that brings me joy.

What is your dream aspiration as an artist?

My aspiration is to create every day and spend the joy of creative play!

Name three artists that inspire you. (Historical, pop cultural, etc.)

Lorna Mills, Denis Zilber and Andrey Gordeev.

For me, their work is just perfect!

What obstacles do you face on a daily basis?

Sometimes, managing both Colours and Pop and also my college work becomes hectic for me. But I’m happy as long as I can work on my illustrations.
